GTHA transit users can now add a PRESTO card to Apple wallet
Apple Watch and iPhone users can now add their PRESTO cards to their Apple wallets to tap and ride transit throughout the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.
Metrolinx and Apple announced Tuesday that customers can add a new PRESTO card and add funds to it within the iPhone wallet app.
Passes such as the TTC monthly pass can also be purchased using the PRESTO app and then added to the Apple wallet.
All users have to do is open the iPhone wallet app, tap the Add (+) button, select “Transit Card” and follow the instructions.

Those who already have a registered physical PRESTO card can use the PRESTO app to link it to their iPhone or Apple Watch.
There is also a new “express mode” that will enable customers to tap their iPhone or Apple Watch on transit without unlocking or waking up their device. They can still use it to ride transit if their phone is in low power mode as well.
Android users have been able to tap and ride transit in the GTHA using their PRESTO cards in their Google wallets since November 2023.
