Gryphons beat Ravens on CHCH

OUA football semi-finals, a game you saw right here on CHCH with the Carleton Ravens taking on the Guelph Gryphons.

First quarter with Guelph up 2-0, Carleton’s Kyle Van Wynsberger hits Wilson Birch. He avoids a tackle and takes it all the way to the house. A 68-yard touchdown. The Ravens missed the two point convert but go up 6-3.

This one though was a battle of field goals early, it would be 12-9 Guelph at the half with Gabriel Ferraro a perfect 4 for 4 in the half.

Third quarter, still 12-9, and a hand off to Brandon Gordon for a 51-yard gain to the red zone. A couple of plays later, Gordon is rewarded with the major. 19-14 Guelph.

Player of the game though and rewarded with this major which made it 26-14 for Johnny Augistin. He ran for over 225 yards, just a crazy game for him.

Guelph goes on to beat the Ravens 33-20. They are going the Yates Cup. In the other semi-final, Western defeated Laurier 32-18. So it’ll be Guelph vs Laurier in the Yates Cup which you can see on CHCH next weekend.

Some final scores from McMaster sports; the men’s soccer team defeated Ryerson in the semi final of the OUA Championship. They will face York today at 11am.

And in the CIS Women’s rugby semi-final, the Marauders beat Ottawa 14 to 8. They are headed to the final. That game is today at 3pm.
