Great Lakes water levels below average

The water levels of all five great lakes are well below average this year.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says two of the lakes, Lake Huron and Lake Michigan, have hit their lowest levels ever recorded.

Scientists warn the low water levels could go even lower in the months to come, due in part to continued lower-than-usual snow and
rainfall.
That could affect shipping traffic on the great lakes.
