Grandfather dead in Mississauga crash

An elderly man has died after he and his granddaughter were hit by a van in Mississauga Monday morning.

Peel Regional Police say they were hit at Ceremonial and Fairwind drives just after eight am while they were walking to school.

The man was airlifted to hospital, but has since died.

His seven year old granddaughter suffered only minor injuries. She was taken to Sick Kids hospital in Toronto as a precaution, but she’s expected to be ok.

Officers say they’re trying to determine whether charges should be laid.
