Ritchie Brothers, the world’s largest auctioneer of industrial equipment and trucks is selling more than 1,500 pieces of equipment today and tomorrow. This is the final step to wrap up the Niagara tunnel project which started over seven years ago and finished this year.

The project involved heavy digging and construction of a 10.2 kilometre tunnel beneath Niagara Falls and now channels 500 cubic metres of water per second to generate enough power for a city the size of St Catharines for the next one hundred years. Everything involved in the project will go on sale except the digger itself and about 10 kilometres of conveyor belts.

All equipment items will be sold unreserved to the highest bidders with no minimum bids or reserve prices. Bidders can bid in person at the auction site on Stanley Street or online.
