Gordon Stuckless facing 19 new sexual assault charges

The man at the centre of the Maple Leaf Gardens sex abuse scandal is scheduled to appear in a Toronto court today after a slew of new charges were laid.

Sixty-seven-year-old Gordon Stuckless is facing 19 new charges including three counts of sexual assault and two counts of threatening death.

Police say the new charges are in relation to alleged sexual assaults on three boys between 1978 and 1984.

Stuckless pleaded guilty in 1997 for sexually assaulting 24 boys while he worked as an equipment manager at Toronto’s Maple Leaf Gardens between 1969 and 1988.

In June, he also pleaded guilty to more than 100 charges for crimes against 18 boys and was sentenced to just over six years in prison. Prosecutors have appealed that sentence saying it does not reflect the severity of the crimes.
