GO Transit announces 500th bus
Today GO Transit announced a new milestone – their 500th bus in the greater Toronto and Hamilton area.
The new bus will hit the streets next week.
GO Transit now has a fleet of 117 double-decker buses, 381 diesel coaches, and two hybrid coaches. Transportation minister Steven Del Duca says that more buses means more options for Ontario commuters.
“This is big news. Our GO network is expansive. GO’s distinctive green and white trains and buses serve a population of over 7 million across 11,000 square kilometres.”
“By adding more GO buses, the Ontario government is providing riders with more travel options versus the traditional automobile.”
On a typical weekday, GO buses make about 2500 trips.
