Person fatally struck by GO Train in Burlington

A pedestrian has been fatally struck by a GO Train in Burlington.
Police say they were pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say the person was on the tracks prior to the collision, which occurred just east of Guelph Line, around 10:45 a.m.
The circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation.
Trains along the Lakeshore West line cannot currently move through Burlington station.
GO Transit has had to modify part of its Lakeshore West operations.
It remains unclear how long the track will be shut down.

Modified Lakeshore West route
Trains travelling westbound from Union Station are stopping at Appleby GO Station.
An hourly train is operating between Hamilton’s West Harbour GO Station and the Appleby GO Station.
Busses will carry passengers between the West Harbour GO Station and the Aldershot GO Station.
