Nearly 53,000 people who rely on GO buses may have to make alternate plans for their commute to work or school tomorrow as a looming strike could bring service to a screeching halt.

GO Transit bus drivers are set to walk off the job at midnight tonight as contract talks continue between their union and Metrolinx. If a deal is not reach between Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1587, Metrolinx says all buses will be pulled from the road, as well as weekend train service to Niagara and Barrie.

GO train service will continue but trains are expected to be more crowded than usual.

Negotiations are expected to continue until later tonight.
