Glass cases smashed in St. Catharines jewellery store break in

Niagara Regional Police Service is investigating after a jewellery store was broken into overnight in St. Catharines.

A witness called police around 10:50 p.m. Tuesday and reported seeing three men leaving Penner Jewellers on Vansickle Rd. through a broken window.

Police say the group stole an undisclosed amount of jewellery from the store.

The trio is believed to have fled the scene in a black Dodge pickup truck.

A rear door was knocked down and several jewellery cases were smashed during the theft.

The first suspect is described as 6’0 tall, heavyset, wearing a dark coloured hoodie and dark pants. The second is 6’1 with a medium build, wearing a light coloured sweatshirt, dark pants and a face mask. The third is 6’2 with a slender build, wearing a sweatshirt, light coloured pants and a face mask.

Anyone with information that could help with the investigation is asked to contact Niagara police.
