A Glanbrook teenager is facing charges after a driver was caught going more than double the speed limit early Monday morning.

Shortly after 1 a.m., an officer spotted an Acura SUV travelling at a high rate of speed on Trinity Church Rd. near Golf Club Rd.

Police say the vehicle was clocked at 132 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone.

The 18-year-old driver was pulled over and charged with stunt driving and speeding. His license was suspended and his parents’ vehicle was seized for seven days.

Additional penalties upon conviction can include a fine of up to $10,000, seven demerit points and a dramatic increase in insurance rates.

The teen is scheduled to appear in court on June 3.
