Gas station attendant dies

A gas station attendant who was injured last week after a gas and dash robbery in south Mississauga has died.

The family of Hashem Rad had been holding vigil at hospital since the 62 year old was dragged into the street from a Petro Canada station at Truscott and Southdown Road in Clarkson. He had tried to stop a motorist who had put gas into a gold, four-door car and left without paying.

Witnesses say the car’s plates had been covered with paper.

Police are urging the driver, described as being about 20 to 30-years old, to turn himself in. We have more from Al Sweeney:
