Gas prices around the region

Gas prices are on the rise again and analysts say we won’t be seeing any real relief anytime soon.

In Burlington gas prices jumped to 129.9 overnight, which seemed to be the norm across the region, although Hamilton is a bit lower now. Analysts predict prices will rise to 1.30 on Friday.

“I think gas prices are going to be extremely high for 2018 and we could see prices moving toward 1.35, even the 1.38 range at some point this summer; that’s because U.S demand is strong and even if it remains as strong as last summer US is also exporting a lot more gasoline, the world wants more fuel not less.” Dan McTeague, gasbuddy.com.

In the first two weeks of April, McTeague says there will be a 4 cent increase when we see a shift from winter to summer gasoline and that will push prices into the 1.30/1.35 range.
