Hamilton police say a 20-year-old man’s vehicle has been impounded after he was allegedly caught speeding Sunday night.
Officers were on White Church Rd. East around 9 p.m. when they noticed a Ford Escape travelling at a high rate of speed near Miles Rd.
The vehicle was clocked going 135 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone.
A Glanbrook man was pulled over and charged with stunt driving and speeding.
The man’s vehicle was seized for seven days and his licence was suspended for the same amount of time.
He is scheduled to appear in court on April 6.
If found guilty, the penalties for stunt driving could include a fine between $2,000 to $10,000, up to six months in jail and a two-year licence suspension.
Hamilton police is warning residents that the service takes a zero-tolerance approach to stunt driving and drivers are reminded to exercise extra caution during times of inclement weather.
