A Hamilton man is facing 10 charges after he allegedly crashed his vehicle twice on the same road and then fled the area.

Ontario Provincial Police were called to a single-vehicle crash on Brantford Rd. in Windham around 10 a.m. Thursday.

A witness called police after they saw a vehicle lose control, crash into a tree and then slam into a hydro pole.

The vehicle fled the scene but then lost control again and crashed into a ditch.

The driver fled on foot but was quickly located and taken into custody.

Kenneth Mcaulay, 22, has been charged with dangerous operation, fail to remain, failure to stop after accident, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession for the purpose of trafficking – ecstasy, possession for the purpose of trafficking – Xanax, operate a motor vehicle without insurance, class g1 licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver, novice driver – presence of drug, and use plate not authorized for vehicle.

He is scheduled to appear in a Simcoe court at a later date.
