Future of the Westdale Bird Sanctuary

A million-dollar pledge to help save Westdale Bird Sanctuary was taken off the table by its secret donor this past week.

The gift was intended to be included in a greenhouse project last year but the city says it needed more time to evaluate a new facility.

Staff at the sanctuary believe the city wants out of the bird business.
