Furious 7 is the newest instalment in the 14 year old franchise featuring fast cars and a family of street racers. Director James Wan (The Conjuring) takes the wheel the time around after the departure of Justin Lin. A host of recurring and new cast members star including Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, Lucas Black, Jason Statham, and the late Paul Walker in his final film role.
Furious 7 picks up more than a year after Dom (Diesel) and Brian’s (Walker) crew has returned to the States with their pardons. Dom tries desperately to reconnect with Letty (Rodriguez), while Brian struggles to acclimate to suburban life with Mia (Brewster) and their son, and Tej (Bridges) and Roman (Gibson) celebrate their freedom by living the playboy dream. Unbeknownst to all, however, danger has come in the form a cold-blooded British black ops assassin with a score to settle. Beginning his reign of terror with the brutal murder of Han (Sung Kang) in Tokyo and the attempted assassination of Hobbs (Johnson) in L.A., Deckard Shaw (Statham) is systematically hunting down those who took out Owen (Luke Evans), his little brother, during their last mission.
Walker’s death hit the cast and crew hard, but nobody was as affected as Vin Diesel. “Paul was a brother to me. The relationships among the Fast family are deep and meaningful, and our characters would do anything for each other. That support and sense of family that exists in the film bleeds off screen with us. With this film, the whole world gets to feel a part of our family.”
Furious 7 is rated PG. Read our review here.
