Free immunization clinic was held in Milton after a hepatitis A case

A free immunization clinic was held in Milton today after a hepatitis A case was found in an employee at The Chopped Leaf.
Halton Region Public Health is asking customers who visited between August 8th and 14th to get vaccinated if they do not have prior immunity through vaccines or past infection. The Medical Officer of Health has arranged free walk-in clinics this weekend at 180 Market Drive.
The Chopped Leaf location says they were contacted by Public Health about the positive hepatitis A case. Public Health also paid a visit to the restaurant and told the franchisee they were happy with the sanitary procedures they have in place.
Public Health says people who ate or drank at The Chopped Leaf between July 30th and August 5th should monitor for symptoms.
The Chopped Leaf confirmed with us that there were no other infections found in any other staff, and says they will continue to follow directions from Public Health. The vaccination clinic will be open on August 21st from 9 am to 3 pm and on August 22nd from 3 pm to 7 pm.
