A new initiative by a Hamilton-based cabinet manufacturing company is looking to get more women into the industry by offering training free of charge.
Mobel Cabinetry has been in the sector for more than three decades and has partnered with the Wood Manufacturing Council to provide a twelve-week intensive entirely free of cost.
The program will cover all aspects of cabinet manufacturing, with a special focus being placed on installation given the growing demand for installers.

The training itself will be followed by a three-month-long work placement to provide participants with tangible, first hand experience to take their learning to the real world.
Those taking part will have access to some more perks, including shop gear, bus fare reimbursement, safety certifications and introductions to local employers.
President of the Wood Manufacturing Council Richard Lipman says the opportunity opens doors to a range of industries, including construction, renovations and of course, cabinetry.
Similar programs have been run by the Council throughout the country over the past ten years, but this is the first initiative held in collaboration with mobel Cabinetry.
