Fraser Mustard dies
A Canadian researcher who influenced governments around the world on the importance of early childhood has died.
Fraser Mustard, a founding member and dean of McMaster University’s Medical Centre, has lost his battle with cancer.
The 84-year-old was known for his plans for parenting centres to support families, health services, preschool programming parenting resources and child care.
Mustard was also a major backer of the province’s move to full-day kindergarten.
Earlier in his career, he’d been part of the team that discovered how Aspirin could be used to ward off heart attacks.
