Four Hamilton teens arrested after recreation centre thefts

Four teens are facing multiple charges after they were caught with stolen items taken from unsuspecting patrons at a Hamilton recreation centre.

Authorities were in the area of Upper Wentworth Street on May 29 when they observed a group of known teenagers, some of which were actively violating their court orders.

They arrested the teens and recovered car keys, a wallet and a diamond engagement ring taken from patrons at a recreation centre.

A 16-year-old female from Hamilton was charged with theft over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.

A 17-year-old female from Hamilton was charged with failure to comply with undertaking (three counts) and possession of property obtained by crime.

The third teen is a 17-year-old male from Hamilton that was charged with failure to comply with release order (four counts).

Authorities identify the last teen as a 15-year-old female from Hamilton who was charged with theft over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.
