Niagara police are investigating a serious – and allegedly intentional – collision in Fort Erie that left one person injured and another on the lam.
Around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, police arrived at the scene near Netherby Road and Winger Road.
Their initial investigation revealed that a fight happened earlier at a nearby house party, which led to two men leaving the home. One left in a grey Volkswagen Jetta, and another left in an ATV.
Police say that shortly after both men left the house, the driver of the Volkswagen is believed to have intentionally struck the ATV with his car. He then ran away from the area on foot.
A 32-year-old man from Thorold was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators are searching for 21-year-old Baylee James Lemoine, who is believed to be the driver of the car.
Anyone with information on his current whereabouts is asked to contact detectives at 905-688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009538.
