Fort Erie man charged with beating senior

A Fort Erie man is facing charges after an 87 year-old man was beaten in the cottage community of Lakefield.

Police say the victim had accidentally scratched a car with his keys while loading groceries into his own vehicle. He was then punched in the head, shoulders and neck while facing a barrage of obscenities.

Witnesses intervened and said he was shaken, but not seriously injured. The driver of the scratched car, 50 year-old Andrea Charles Montana of Fort Erie, is charged with assault.
