Fort Erie man charged after pointing gun while driving: police

Niagara police have charged an 18-year-old man who allegedly pointed a gun while driving a truck.

Officers said it happened in the area of Garrison and Crescent roads in Fort Erie shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday.

Police found the suspect inside of a parked white Ford F-150 pick-up truck when they arrived at the scene. They also seized two loaded replica pistols inside of the vehicle.

Jonathan Jones of Fort Erie was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Jones has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 3 in Welland.
