Former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney dead at 84
Brian Mulroney is being remembered as “generous, tireless and incredibly passionate.”
Canada’s 18th prime minister had a storied political career – from establishing historic trade agreements for the nation, to working closely with Nelson Mandela to stand against South African apartheid.
But, Mulroney wasn’t without his critics… tough battles over the constitution and introducing the unpopular goods and services tax eventually led to his party’s downfall in the polls, with him leaving office in 1993.
