Former Burlington teacher charged in historic sexual assaults
Police have charged a former Burlington elementary school teacher in connection with a series of sexual assaults that allegedly occurred over 40 years ago.
In June 2022, Halton police say the first male survivor filed a report saying he was sexually assaulted by a teacher between 1982-83 when he was in Grade 8 at Pineland Public School.
Another male survivor came forward to police this month alleging he was also sexually assaulted by the same teacher between 1983-84 when he was in Grade 8 at Pineland Public School.
Investigators say the sexual assaults occurred at the elementary school.

On Wednesday, police arrested and charged 85-year-old Barbara Baxter of Burlington with sexual assault and acts of gross indecency.
Officers say Baxter was released on an undertaking.
Prior to being employed by the Halton District School Board, Baxter worked for the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims.
