The first ship into The Port of Hamilton yesterday has raised some questions, but not about the ship itself more about its cargo. The vessel was said to be carrying steel coils from Spain and Italy and that has some wondering why?, when we have steel available in Hamilton.

Arcelor-Mittal says the steel here wasn’t wide enough to make car parts, so following normal protocol,  it brought the material in from its sister plant in Spain. While there are concerns about companies buying steel from other countries at a much lower cost than market price, the Vice-President of Arcelor-Mittal says in terms of its operations, that’s not the case.
