Ford issues truck recall over defective part, steering loss risk

Ford has issued a recall for thousands of trucks that could lose steering control due to a defective part.

The recall, announced through Transport Canada, affects over 14,000 vehicles from the 2020 model year.

”On certain vehicles, the upper steering shaft could separate and cause a loss of steering control,” the notice said, adding that it could increase the risk of a crash.

The recall pertains to the following trucks:

  • FORD     F-250 CHASSIS CAB    2020
  • FORD     F-250 SUPER DUTY    2020
  • FORD     F-350 CHASSIS CAB   2020
  • FORD     F-350 SUPER DUTY    2020
  • FORD     F-450 CHASSIS CAB   2020
  • FORD     F-450 SUPER DUTY    2020

Owners with an affected model should have their vehicle inspected at a Ford dealer.
