Florida shatters record for new COVID-19 cases

Florida has hit another record high number of new COVID-19 cases in a day.

The state added 15,299 cases on Sunday, the highest number from any U.S. state since the pandemic began.

With more than 7,500 COVID-19 patients hospitalized, medical systems are struggling to keep us and they are running out of ICU beds.

Florida has been posting and then breaking record high case numbers for the past several weeks.

It has prompted several beaches to close and some areas to roll back their phased reopening.
