A flood warning has ended following several days of bad weather.

The Long Point Conservation Authority issued a flood warning for all areas within its watershed earlier this week.

It said recent rainfall had brought around 30 millimetres of rain to its upper watershed and nearly 46 millimetres to the lower watershed.

The organization had warned those in the town of Vienna to be vigilant during this period, as it tends to be one of the more susceptible locations in its watershed region.

The warning was lifted Thursday evening.

“Given Vienna’s vulnerability to flooding, Flood Coordinators should keep a close watch on river conditions and warn property owners in the most flood-prone areas of Vienna of the potential for flooding.”

The public is still being warned by the organization to stay away from ditches, streams, rivers and ponds as the combination of slippery banks and cold, fast-flowing water can be dangerous.
