A flight from Hamilton’s John C. Munro airport heading to Vancouver makes an emergency landing due to the pilot smelling smoke in the cabin.

The flight left Hamilton at 6:14 p.m. EDT Tuesday heading to Vancouver.

“The captain elected to land in Regina due to the smell of smoke in the cabin, although none was visible,” Porter Airlines told CHCH News in a statement Wednesday.

The plane landed in Regina at 8:33 p.m. CST.

A reporter with CJME News in Regina spoke with the Regina Airport Authority President and CEO James Bogusz who says there were 91 passengers on board and no one was hurt.

Porter says that passengers stayed in a hotel for the night and are heading to Vancouver on a different aircraft Wednesday.

CHCH News has contacted Porter for more information.
