First economic statement

The Ford government revealed its first economic statement since taking office saying it’s reduced the province’s deficit by half a billion dollars down to $14.5 billion. It also say it’s shaved off $3.2 billion in spending and cut almost $2.7 billion in taxes.

Low income earners, people making less than $30 000, won’t have to pay income tax that would result in a maximum $850 a year in savings for one person.

The LCBO is about to update its hours of operation from 9 am to 11 pm seven days a week; and alcohol will soon be available at corner stores and big box stores.

In terms of rent control, the PC’s are lifting those restrictions for what they consider ‘new builds.’
