Fire closes Hamilton school

Huntington Park Elementary School on the Hamilton mountain is closed after a fire caused $500,000 worth of damages.

The fire started in a classroom from a window fan. It was discovered by a custodian who smelled smoke just after six Thursday morning.

Firefighters quickly arrived on the scene and put out the blaze. No one was injured in the fire.

The school will remain closed for the rest of the week as the room where the fire started must be gutted, and the rest of the school suffered smoke damage.
