Final suspect arrested in Port Colborne summer murder

The Niagara police homicide unit has arrested the remaining person wanted for the 2024 murder of Daniel Sanvido.

47-year-old Richard Stevens of Niagara Falls has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Sanvido, whose body was found in a ditch in Port Colborne on Aug. 24.

Two men were previously arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the homicide.

Jacob Cudney, 47, of Niagara Falls was arrested earlier this month, days after the arrest of 36-year-old Jade Hayward of St. Catharines on the same charges.

Stevens will have a bail hearing today in St. Catharines.
