7 candidates have registered to run for mayor in Hamilton after Fred Eisenberger said he will not be seeking re-election.

Among the 7 official candidates who have tossed their hats into the race are former Ontario NDP leader Andrea Horwath, former President and CEO of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce Keanin Loomis, former mayor and Liberal MP Bob Bratina, and Ejaz Butt, the owner of veteran taxi.
