Thursday’s English-language debate was one of the last chances for the leaders to square-off before Canadians begin casting their ballots, as early as Friday in advance polls.
Liberal leader Mark Carney, Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre, NDP leader Jagmeet Singh and Bloc Quebecois leader Yves-Francois Blanchet were asked questions within five topics: affordability, climate, their ability to lead in a crisis, public safety and, of course, tariffs and threats to Canada.
The leaders covered off similar topics at the French-language debate on Wednesday night.
Analysts say there wasn’t a clear winner in the debate but many noted that Carney went relatively unscathed, even as he fielded jabs from the opposition.
