Fatal police shooting in Minnesota

A Minnesota traffic stop turned violent in the second fatal police shooting of a black man in two nights. The aftermath of the confrontation was broadcast live on Facebook by the dead man’s girlfriend – in the car . and a warning that this video is very graphic.

The shooting happened last night in the Minneapolis area. Authorities say St. Anthony police were doing a traffic stop when an officer fired at least one shot at the man driving the vehicle. Police say a woman and child were in the vehicle and witnessed the shooting. They were unharmed.

The victim was taken to hospital for his injuries. Family members confirm the man, Philando Castile, died. The officer involved in the shooting has been with the department for five years and has been put on paid administrative leave.
