A death on the roads in Oakville this Friday night.

Halton police are investigating after a 67-year old Toronto man lost control of his car around a curve on the North Service Road at Sixth Line. His car went down a public walkway and smashed into a cement pole. Police say he died from his injuries at the scene. The collision reconstruction team is still at the scene trying to establish what happened.

Sgt. Paul Davies is with the Halton Regional Police: “We will be doing our at scene work here for a couple of hours. It’s kind of an out-of-the-way place so we’re not really impeding any of the traffic right now although the road is closed. Vehicles are able to maneuver throughout the neighbourhood.”

The area will likely remain closed for a couple more more hours. The bend in the road may have factored into the crash.
