Fatal crash on Highway 12

A woman was killed this morning in a head-on crash on Highway 12 near Port Perry, northeast of Toronto.

The collision happened in Scugog Township around 6:30 a.m. Police say the woman was driving north on Highway 12 when she crossed into the southbound lanes and hit a tractor-trailer. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.

The OPP are investigating the crash.
