Brantford Transit says changes are coming to its fare system this fall.

Starting on Oct. 6, old fare products including the B-Card, old tickets and passes will no longer be accepted on Brantford Transit or Brantford Lift buses.

Passengers are asked to bring their old fare products to the Brantford Transit Terminal during regular business hours to exchange them for new BT Connect fare products before the changes take effect.

Outdated fareboxes and scanning equipment will also be removed from buses.

Once the changes take effect, all passengers must use cash, the BT Connect mobile app or a BT Connect Card to pay their fare.

Children 12 and under will continue to ride for free, but must carry a BT Connect Card. These can be obtained by visiting the Transit Terminal in person with proof of birth date.
