The Face of Love

The Face of Love is a romance film starring Annette Benning as a widow still grieving the sudden death of her husband. When she meets a new man who looks identical to her late husband, she sees a second chance at her first love. The film co-stars Ed Harris and Robin Williams. It’s directed by Arie Posin and written by Posin and Matthew McDuffie.

Posin says the inspiration for the story came from a conversation with a woman about five years after his father passed away. “She came over one day and said—it’s almost word for word what Nikki says in the movie—‘You know, this funny thing happened to me today. I was walking across the street and I saw this man coming towards me who was a carbon copy of your father.’ That moment stuck with me. I started thinking about it, dreaming about it, even. And that eventually led to this whole story.”

The Face of Love is rated PG.
