Extortion arrest in Hamilton

Police have arrested a Hamilton man after investigating international allegations of extortion, child pornography and child luring.

Police say they received information from the FBI that a Hamilton man had been posing as a young woman and used social media to be-friend boys in the United Kingdom, United States and Canada.

They were told to undress on web cams and the videos were recorded.

Police allege the man threatened to post them online, unless the boys provided further pornographic materials.

Some images were sent to friends and relatives.

21 year old Robert Ellis is facing several charges.
