Considering how many countries there are in the world, and how many great filmmakers there are in each, the Best Foreign Film category at the Academy Awards could be considered one of the most competitive. This year one film quickly rose above the rest: the anthology film Wild Tales from Argentinian director Damián Szifron. Since it premiered in competition at Cannes last year the film has earned nothing but acclaim and was one of the five nominees duking it out for Oscar supremacy.

We sat down with Szifron to talk about his eccentric film and whether it was a reflection of his own emotions or a wild fantasy.
