Back at Hot Docs last year, Brian Knappenberger’s powerful documentary The Internet’s Own Boy: The Story of Aaron Swartz had its world premiere and opened the festival. Nine months later the film made it onto the Academy Awards shortlist for Best Documentary and the director has earned a Writers Guild Award nomination.
