World leaders are gathering at the World Economic Forum against the backdrop of fraught U.S.-EU tensions over Greenland.

Multiple politicians gave pointed speeches Tuesday calling attention to the “geopolitical shocks” caused by President Donald Trump’s escalating threats of annexing the Arctic island.

When it comes to his plan to acquire Greenland, President Trump says “there can be no going back.”

In a series of posts on social media Monday night, Trump shared ai-generated images of the U.S. owning Greenland and screenshots of messages he’s received from European leaders trying to dissuade him.

One of those messages was from French President Emmanuel Macron who says we’re shifting towards “a world without rules.”
