Environment Canada issues winter weather advisory for GTHA
A winter weather advisory is still in effect, with Environment Canada warning that snow could continue in the Greater Toronto Area, Niagara Region, and in Hamilton.
Due to these winter weather conditions, police are urging people to exercise caution on the roads.
Ontario Provincial Police say although winter makes driving a little harder, it’s up to driver’s to do their part.
Meanwhile the city of Hamilton says it’s prepared to help drivers this winter.
Peter Sniuolis, manager of Roadway Maintenance in Hamilton, says, “With the primary roads, we’ll be on there prior to the storm even happening, we’ll continue to treat those. Then as the storm tapers off, we’ll slowly move into the residential and have those complete within the 24 hours after the storm ends.”
OPP says it’s also a good idea to have an emergency kit on hand in case you get stranded on the road.
