Emergency room funding

Burlington’s Joseph Brant Hospital is getting help from the province to make its wait times shorter.

The province will give Jo Brant $2.7 million over three years to improve emergency room wait times. The money will pay for a rapid assessment clinic set to open this spring.

At the clinic, people will be screened to make sure acute care patients are treated faster, while those who don’t really need to be in the ER are referred for treatment.
