Dynamite found in Hamilton home

A Hamilton man faces charges after police recovered several sticks of dynamite from a home on John Street North.

Officers raided the house on John Street between Barton and Robert and found explosives. The building was evacuated as a safety precaution. A team from the explosive disposal unit was called in and the explosives were destroyed on site.

Kerry Henwood, 52, faces two charges of possesion of an explosive substance for an unlawful purpose. The gang, weapons and enforcement unit is continuing the investigation.
