Drug trafficking ring busted

Nine people are facing charges after a nearly year long drug trafficking investigation.

Halton police say they conducted search warrants at several homes in Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville and Toronto Monday night.

They seized various drugs including cocaine and ecstasy as well as $45,000 in cash, three handguns, ammunition and a bullet proof vest.

Police say they’d been working on the investigation since an undercover officer purchased cocaine several times from a trafficker in the Halton region.
