Hamilton police say they are urging the driver who struck a woman on Friday evening to turn himself in. The woman remains in critical condition.
On Friday, Sept. 9, at around 10:20 p.m., a 26-year-old woman was crossing Mohawk Rd. E. near East 45th St. when she was struck by an eastbound vehicle. She was transported to hospital with life threatening injuries.
Police say the vehicle did not remain on the scene and was last seen travelling eastbound on Mohawk Rd. passing Upper Ottawa St. Police are looking for a gray or silver four-door motor vehicle, possibly an older model Honda sedan that may have damage to its passenger mirror.
Witnesses to the collision describe the driver as a white man with facial hair and wearing a baseball cap.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
